Imagine...finally parking your car inside and knowing where everything is. Our team will be taking everything out of your garage and sorting it into 3 categories: Keep, Donate/Sell, & Trash. We have found that having both spouses nearby is helpful (“I’m not sure what my husband/wife wants to do with that box”) and we’ve put together these other tips as well to make the day even more successful
1. For all of your KEEP items:
- If you do not have shelves or storage cabinets in your garage already, or if you would like more, we recommend purchasing shelves beforehand (Home Depot, Costco, or Lowe’s) and we will gladly put them together. Bins are almost always the best way to organize the things you will be keeping in your garage, which can be purchased just about anywhere for about $5-$9/ea. We recommend about 8-10 medium sized bins as you can always return any we do not use.
2. For all of your TRASH:
- It is highly recommended that you order a trash bin if you feel as though you we will be throwing a lot away. One company we recommend is Eco Bins (818-584-5001 ~ cost $100-135, depending on your location). This will prevent your trash cans from being used/filled until your next trash collection day. They will pick it up the next day and go through it to sort recyclable material, trash, etc. Note: If you would like us to schedule this drop-off and pick-up for you, just let us know and we’ll collect the money when you give your deposit. If the amount of trash you have to dispose of is too little to schedule a bin or is too much for your own trash bins, we can take away whatever we can fit in our truck for a $50 fee.
3. For all of your UNWANTED ITEMS:
- Many people choose to donate their unwanted items to charity so that it can go to those in need. Depending upon your location and the amount/size of your items, we can schedule this for you. They usually come within 24 hrs of your garage clean-out; items can be left outside or in a carport and you do not need to be home. Goodwill, The Salvation Army, or The Rescue Mission are the charities we typically use. They will provide you with a receipt for a tax deduction. If the amount of your donations is minimal and does not require a pick up, we can take them and donate them for you for no charge and mail you the receipt.
